Best Kept Village Competition 2015

You may already have noticed some recent improvements in the village as we have entered the Best Kept Village competition again this year. The trophy stands proudly on the village green and we'd like to keep it.
Last year there were a number of volunteers. Some had their own responsibilities like keeping the phone box spick and span whilst others preferred to work in groups with weeding or pruning projects. Some preferred to take part in a rota system with watering plants. Every little bit of help was  appreciated as it shared a big task.
If you would like to give some of your time but not sure how then information will be available in the village hall on May 7th.
As volunteers we rely on donations so whether it be time, money or plants your help is vital to keep the trophy.
Teams of judges will be visiting Salt during May, June and July.
Good luck everyone!

Volunteers Form Working Party

This years competition is well underway and willing volunteers from the village are doing their best to ensure that we retain the trophy this year. This group concentrated on the churchyard and burial ground where weeding, strimming and hedge cutting has been completed and all debris cleared away leaving these areas clean and tidy. Our thanks to all our volunteers who regularly demonstrate the high level of community spirit that exists in our village.
